Community Investment
From its inception, the goals for the Friends of Coal Auto
Fair have been to help raise funds for the YMCA of Southern West Virginia, to boost the local economy in southern West Virginia, and to shed light on the charitable work the coal industry does to make our area a better place to live, work and play.
Thanks to our sponsors, participants and patrons, the show continues to be successful in accomplishing these objectives. When
you visit, consider helping our community by supporting the following worthy causes.
YMCA of Southern West Virginia All proceeds from the Friends of Coal Auto Fair go toward
helping families and children in need gain access to the Y's programs and services through its Open Doors program; alleviating
operating costs for the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex, which is the host-site for the event; and maintaining equipment to run high-quality youth programs. More than 100,000
chidren from our area, West Virginia, and our surrounding states benefit from the Y's work each year. Hundreds
of companies and individuals step forward to donate time and resources to make the Friends of Coal Auto Fair a success for
the Y. You too can make a difference by becoming a sponsor and/or by bringing your family and friends to the show.
Salvation Army Canned Food Drive Help make a difference in somebody's life by bringing canned food items to help the local Salvation Army. Canned
food items should be brought to the Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary tent centrally located on Sponsor's Row. Thank you for supporting the effort to feed those in need!
Friends of Coal The title sponsor for our event is dedicated to informing and
educating West Virginia citizens about the coal industry and its vital role in our state's future. It is a volunteer organization
consisting of West Virginians and residents from beyond our borders. Membership is free and the level of involvement is at
your own discretion. Show your support for the industry by visiting the Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary tent to complete a Friends of Coal membership card!
